Custom Kitchen Cabinetry — Montreal, Laval, South Shore
HITO.SPACE designs and manufactures custom kitchen cabinetry for houses, condos and cottages across Greater Montreal. We build the cabinetry: base and wall cabinets, tall units, islands and pantry storage, sized to your room rather than to a catalogue. The starting point is deliberately simple — send us a sketch of your kitchen with approximate dimensions, marking where the water supply, refrigerator and stove sit, and we return a free estimate. Only when the price works for you do we move to an on-site visit for exact measurements, material samples and final details. Everything is cut in our workshop near Beauharnois on the same machinery and from the same melamine and European hardware we use for our closets and walk-ins.
Our Design Process
Sketch and Free Estimate
Draw a view of your kitchen with approximate dimensions and mark the location of the water supply, the refrigerator and the stove. Add a note about what you would like the kitchen to include. That is enough for us to price the project accurately and send you a free estimate, usually within a day. Nobody visits your home and nobody calls to qualify you at this stage — you get a number first and decide whether it is worth continuing.
Measurement Visit and Samples
If the estimate works for you, a representative comes to take exact measurements and confirm details. Colour samples, hardware examples and material samples are brought to this meeting so you can see and handle them rather than judge from a screen. We record appliance dimensions, the position of the faucet, whether there is an island, and any protruding walls, bulkheads or services that the design has to accommodate.
3D Design With Revisions
You receive a 3D design of your kitchen along with our designer recommendations on layout and ergonomics. Ask for as many changes as you need: we keep reworking the design until the kitchen matches your expectations. This is where cabinet combinations, door fronts, colour pairings and interior fittings are settled, while changes still cost nothing but time.
Manufacturing and Installation
Once you approve the design, components are CNC-cut in our workshop and labelled for assembly. Our installers handle delivery and installation, protect the surrounding areas during the work and clean up afterwards. Cabinets are scribed to walls and floors that are rarely perfectly straight, and every door and drawer is adjusted for alignment before the final walkthrough.
Materials & Specifications
Cabinet Boxes
Melamine cabinet construction in 5/8" and 1" thicknesses, thermally fused for durability and easy cleaning. All exposed edges are finished with matching 2mm PVC edge banding that resists chipping and moisture — an important detail in a room with steam and spills. Adjustable legs compensate for uneven floors and create the toe-kick space.
Hardware
European soft-close hinges and full-extension drawer slides, the same hardware specification we use throughout our closet systems, backed by manufacturer warranties. Full extension matters more in a kitchen than anywhere else: it is the difference between reaching into the back of a deep cabinet and simply pulling the contents out to you.
Finishes
Over 20 melamine finishes including wood grains, solid colours and textured surfaces. Standard cabinet combinations and proven colour pairings are shown during design so you can start from something that already works rather than from a blank page. Finish samples are brought to the measurement meeting for evaluation in your own light.
Lighting
Dimmable LED strips in aluminium channels for under-cabinet and interior lighting, at 3000K warm white. All electrical work is performed by licensed electricians and meets Quebec building codes. Motion-sensor activation is available where hands are often full or dirty.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly do you supply for a kitchen?
We design, manufacture and install the cabinetry — base cabinets, wall cabinets, tall units, islands and pantry storage — together with hardware, interior fittings and integrated lighting. Countertops, sinks, plumbing and appliances are coordinated with your project but are not manufactured by us. We design around the appliances and countertop you choose, which is why we ask for their dimensions early.
How do I measure my kitchen for a quote?
Sketch your kitchen as a simple view, mark the position and dimensions of the appliances, indicate whether there is an island and where the faucet is, then measure the width of each run, the height of the kitchen space, and any protruding walls. Approximate numbers are fine at this stage — the purpose is an accurate estimate, not a production drawing. Exact measurements are taken later by our representative.
Do you serve areas outside Montreal?
Yes. We deliver and install across Greater Montreal, including Laval, the South Shore and the North Shore. Our workshop is near Beauharnois, which puts the South Shore and the Montérégie within easy reach. Distance is confirmed with your estimate so there are no surprises later.
How many design revisions are included?
We do not limit revisions. The 3D design is reworked until the kitchen matches your requirements, because changes made in the design stage cost nothing while changes made after manufacturing cost a great deal. That policy applies to all our projects, kitchens included.
